semantically specific referent (inf)
a.k.a. pragmatically nonspecific (but semantically specific) (indefinite) referent
a referent introduced into the discourse by the speaker that is not normally referred to again in subsequent discourse. The term
semantically specificindicates that the referent is not in a nonreal context -- that is, it is not a nonspecific referent. We will use the shorter term
pragmatically nonspecificand assume that such referents are also semantically specific. (Section 3.4.1)
