propositional content (sem)
a.k.a.
the semantic content of a clause, separately from whether it is packaged as topic--comment, thetic, or identificational. Propositional content corresponds basically to
who did what to whom. Example: In There's a coyote running down the street!, It's a coyote that's running down the street, and The coyote is running down the street, the propositional content shared by the thetic, identificational, and topic--comment constructions, respectively, is the current running event with a coyote as the runner and the street as the location of the running.
