stimulus-oriented strategy (str)
a.k.a. experiencer-object strategy
a strategy for an experiential construction in which the stimulus argument phrase is co-expressed with the subject argument phrase of a transitive or intransitive construction. Example: the argument structure construction found in Dogs frighten me, with the stimulus argument phrase Dogs co-expressed with the prototypical subject participant in English, is an instance of the stimulus-oriented strategy.
